Is it too much to ask? A rant.

Went looking for some risers today for my new Intruder (the angle & shape of the bars are fine, my arms are just too darned short to reach them comfortably and they cannot be rotated - that wouldn't help anyway).
WD and I first went to the Suzuki shop. Makes sense, right? It's a Suzuki bike...
No OEM pullback risers for the Intruder. OK, so, why couldn't they look at OTHER Suzuki products and see if MAYBE there were some pullback risers that would fit, or could be modified to fit, the Intruder?
Oh, HELL no. If it didn't specifically say "fits VS800 Intruder" the parts guy would look no further.
Ditto at the Kawasaki dealer - who shut down completely when I said I had a Suzuki.
So we go to the last recourse, the Harley dealership. Bad idea: never EVER go to the biggest HD dealer in town on a Saturday afternoon. They are inevitably understaffed and we left before we actually could get to the parts counter. WD and I ended up at a nice little HD knock-off shop that lets you look through the aftermarket catalogs all by yourself, and then gives you a price if you find something you like. If she carried anything but HD stuff, she'd have my business...

So I say, is it too much to ask for the parts guys to use a little imagination? To maybe put forth (gasp) some EFFORT to help a customer? I'll tell you guys something: if I could find one who would do that, his shop would have my business for the rest of my freaking life.

Well, let me amend that: if I could find one like that within 100 miles of Memphis. I know where there's a shop that WILL put forth the effort, but he's 375 miles away in Biloxi, Mississippi. Damn.

Thanks for "listening" y'all. I feel better now.
